I just read “The Power of Walking” in the USA Weekend. It’s a great article reminding us that this easy form of exercise can be done without much preparation or training, regardless of age.
Our bodies are made to move. Our time spent sitting at desks, in meetings, watching TV, even attending kid’s activities limits the time that we move. It’s easy for a full day of work to go by, with lunch spent sitting at our desks, without moving much. Actually, it’s not easy - it’s scary that we allow it to happen. Our culture is so focused on “work, work, work,” as a result, we mistreat our bodies daily.
In actuality, if we took a break and went for a short walk, our brain function improves. Which, in turn, makes us more productive. If you’re not getting much movement at work, make a conscious effort to change that. There will always be work to do and an excuse that you can use; however, taking 10 minutes out of your day is only going to help you. Change your mind thought from, “I don’t have time,” to “I can’t miss my walk today.”
We only have one shot on this planet, let’s make the most of it. Fuel up and have a super week.

Right on Peggy…Shake up that routine!!! YOU GO GIRL!
