What prevents you from listening to your heart’s desire, your intuition, your gut, also known as your unconscious mind? This connection is invaluable for aligning with your passions, abilities, resources and will guide you to grow in all areas of your life. As I see it, here are some of the barriers that are causing so many of the world’s population to experience depression, anxiety, unfulfilling careers, and feelings of inadequacy, leading to a population that is unhealthy and disconnected in mind, body and spirit.
It is my belief that we all are born to follow our passions to provide us with a fulfilling, joyful, loving life. Children are completely unconscious for the first 8 years of their lives. Are you aware you have an innate ability within, and do you use it to give you direction on your journey?
Fear of being unique and special
We all have a basic need for belonging. Somewhere over the course of history mankind has gotten the belief that belonging requires conformity with our neighbors, society, family, and friends, and we have lost our individuality for fear of being judged. We have lost our willingness to be unique and follow our own path. How often do you compare yourself to another? Read this for inspiration: “Our Deepest Fear” by Marianne Williamson.
Just being alone with yourself
I believe that we often manufacture stress and busy schedules as an avoidance technique to prevent us from connecting with our heart. There is guidance available if we are willing to take the time to listen. Meditate, walk in nature, sit quietly.
Trusting yourself and being vulnerable
Open your heart to possibility and be vulnerable. Overcome your fear and take a risk. Trust that if you are following your gut it must be right. Many people are so inundated with outsiders’ needs and opinions that they don’t have experience following their own heart. Perhaps you have little experience making your own decisions, therefore trusting that you are on the right path is difficult.
Perhaps the tendency for humans is to think and not to feel. To try and control the situation and push through, when surrendering and going with the flow, being flexible, or saying no would be more beneficial. If we are stubborn and continue to tune out our intuition it will simply stop communicating with us.
We take in external stimuli and process them through our own unique filters, including our beliefs and values (ages 0-12) and our memories, among others. If these filters no longer support what you desire no amount of energy spent will manifest what you want or provide effective guidance.
Your internal GPS is one of your greatest gifts….may you use it to guide you on your journey.
