Are you “accepting your health” or are you willing to heal it?

Ask yourself these questions:

How willing are you to accept your current health?

Do you find yourself  repeating the same old symptoms to numerous medical professionals or have you been told there is no cure or no treatment?

Have you given up seeking the life and the health you desire?

Have you ever given any thought to trying alternative holistic therapies?

Do you accept your responsibility to heal yourself?

Four years ago when I was suffering from depression, anxiety, back pain and nerve pain I was prescribed an antidepressant to better cope with my situation. I use the word “cope” since these drugs did not eliminate the root cause of the disease and the pain I was feeling.  This class of drugs was designed as a short term stabilizer to allow the patient to seek other methods of healing to eradicate the causes of their pain.

Unfortunately with our society wanting the “magic bullet,” few people actually heal the primary source and instead experience long term treatment, unwanted side effects, tolerance requiring more drugs or increased doses and living in a numbed state.

I realize there is a time and place for these pharmaceuticals and dispensed many in my day as a pharmacist. What I am asking those of you out there  who suffer from these or other  dis-eases is to to  have strength, be curious and seek to heal what your body is asking you to heal. Listen to the pain as a message from your body and commit to your health. Only you can heal yourself from the inside out.

My own journey started with an integrative medicine practitioner, then Reiki, Spring Forest Qigong, Neurolinguistic Programming and Hypnosis and most recently Cranial Sacral and  Applied Kinesiology(muscle testing.) The plan is to titrate off  my antidepressants in partnership with my physician over the next few months.

HOPE and so much more

With healing has come a new sense of inner peace and balance, my gluten sensitivity has decreased in severity, my eczema is milder and sporadic, my anxiety has gone from a 10 to a 2, I feel real joy perhaps for the  first time in my life, my self esteem and sense of empowerment has increased, my relationships with my husband and children are deeper and more meaningful and I have HOPE… I am excited about the years to come and this new lease on life I have provided for myself by being willing and committed  to my health.

What are you waiting for? Accept that you have the inner ability to heal and find the practitioner that can assist you. You may find a whole new you, you never knew existed!
